Our journey started in the early 90s when one of the current Flexinova directors embarked on the development of fuelling solutions in South Africa. The solution was originally deployed at Engen Petroleum, one of the leading petroleum companies in South Africa. The solution was created to meet Engen’s cost-effective, highly configurable, and scalable needs. The solution is called WinBranch, originally designed and developed by Andrew Roxburgh, who at the time headed the company called Branch Software.
Milan Sacek joined Branch Software in the early 2000s, where Milan and Andrew worked together on projects related to fuel, retail, QSR, helpdesk, data and system integrations, and many more.
In 2004, Branch Software went through a few acquisitions, such as UCS and BCX, and it has since grown to serve over 1250 fuelling stations in the Southern African continent.
In 2014, Milan Sacek decided to start his own software development company (Flexinova) and was soon joined by Andrew Roxburgh. Milan and Andrew embarked on the mission to develop a new generation retail, fuel and QSR solution on the latest technology stack capable of meeting the needs of the local and international markets.
In 2016, Flexinova completed its first version of a new generation Point of Sale system called V6 POS. The system was successfully implemented at a Shell Service Station in Cape Town, South Africa. As the system proved to be reliable, cost-efficient and capable, it soon gained the attention of many fuel retailers in South Africa and abroad.
Since then, Flexinova remains the vanguard of technological innovation and servicing its commitment to the market by continuous investment into new products and services. Our product and customer portfolio has seen healthy growth, and our business continues to grow in all respects.
In the early 90s, Andrew Roxburgh founded Branch Software. WinBranch product is born and installed across all Engen service stations in South Africa. Milan joins Branch Software in early 2000.
Acquired by today’s BCX in 2004, WinBranch continued growing to become the leading and most capable system on the market, deployed at over 1250 fuelling stations in Southern Africa.
Flexinova was founded by Milan Sacek, with the primary focus of building the world’s leading fuel, QSR and retail solution for the local and international markets. Andrew Roxburgh joined Flexinova in 2015, becoming a director and a shareholder in the business.
First deployed at an independent Shell site in Cape Town, V6 POS proved to be a stable and robust solution, offering value for money and raising interest from leading fuel retailers in South Africa and abroad. The system was thereafter deployed at an additional 80 independently operated service stations (Caltex, Shell, Total, Engen, Sasol), and our common retail platform (FlexiAppServer®) was deployed across an entire Engen network of service stations as an integration middleware platform to an existing site solution. Flexinova LiteHub is deployed at Engen for Click & Collect & Delivery.
Flexinova deploys a fully integrated Point-of-Sale Solution, Head Office Solution (HOS) and FlexiRMS at Sasol across 375 service stations. Since then, the system has seen many technological and functional improvements and continues to grow as per evolving business needs.
FlexiAppServer® and FlexiRMS are deployed to approximately 770 Engen service stations. FlexiKDS and LiteHub are also deployed across Engen. Fully integrated V6 POS is deployed at approximately 20 company-owned sites across Engen.
FlexiAppServer® and fully integrated V6 POS and FlexiHOS and FlexiRMS is deployed to approximately 370 company owned Sasol service stations.
FlexiAppServer® and fully integrated V6 POS and FlexiRMS is deployed to approximately 80 independent service stations (Shell, Caltex, Engen, Sasol, Total).
